Yesterday evening I posted up the videos shot at the WLSC 39 and Under Semi-Finals on Wednesday on www.WLSContest.Com Take a look at the performances. One thing Pete Frazier made public on Wednesday is that the finals will be filmed as part of preparation for a motion picture about stepping by Universal Pictures. Yesterday Pete and I talked about stepping on the small screen. They're hitting the morning TV show circuit in Chicago starting with Fox 32 TV on Wednesday September 3rd. He talked about bringing a few dancers to the television studios to do this. Dancers mentioned included Tykmyn, Westside Mike, and Moe. There's talk about doing several other stations also, but it's all still in the works. I'll give you an update when I hear more. The emails are still coming in about yesterday's article Contest and Certification as we are in search of your opinions as to who you feel should be the 6 count benchmark. So far Dave Maxx, Donnie Davis, and Tanya Nash are the three names mentioned most as the 6 count gurus. Drop me a line at webmaster@steppersusa.com and tell me who you feel should be the person should be the benchmark for the Basics. There don't seem to be many special events planned for tonight. It might mean good planning on this the first night of the olympics.

This is an open message to ALL steppers. Please share it with as many people as possible.

 As many of you may already know I started a new web site for the benefit of the greater steppers community. It's called The History of Stepping Project. I wish to encourage you to add your knowledge to the timeline. If you know anything about stepping, please share this with the public on this site. We are looking for all information related to stepping from it's beginnings to the present. The information literally includes everything from clubs and bars which held steppers sets and parties to contests and the participants and results, to when different steppers organizations and classes started, who the instructors were and are; Musical bands, and artists, DJ's, radio and television personalities, Movies, videos, and photos… literally everything stepping.
Creating an accurate historic timeline will go a long way toward helping the community take the next step in its logical progression as it continues to grow nationwide and will become a valuable resource for all in the future.
Your input, your knowledge and your effort have made the dance what it is today. Don't you feel your place (and your organization's) in the timeline is well deserved? I do!

The effort requires more than just posting the information. The need for fact checkers, people willing to do some research exists in this important ongoing project. Just a few minutes a week can make a difference.
